Victim's Rights - State and Federal
Victims of Crime have a variety of rights that keep them informed, offer protection, and access to support services. If an MVI event has occurred in your community, reach out to a Victim Services agency to be sure notification and protection of rights is initiated.

If you are concerned about someone hurting themself or hurting someone else, call 911, your Village Patrol Officer or Village Public Safety Officer.  Work together to help the victim get to a local emergency room or health clinic.

Financial Assistance for Victims
Offering help to a MVI victim/survivor access needed financial support for medical and mental health expenses is easy to do. Visit VCCB's website to access the application or for more instructions. Online applications can be made through the myAlaska portal.

Legal Resources for Victims
If the person who committed the MVI was detained by police, you may be able to monitor the subject's location through a name search on Vine Line. Vine Link stands for Victim Information & Notification Everyday. If the subject is in the state's custody, victims/survivors can register to receive notice if the subject is transferred, released, or escapes.
